Industrial Machine/Maintenance Technology For High School Students

The Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Technology program for High School Students at GCCC is an excellent opportunity for students looking to jump-start their careers! In this program, students will learn to apply technical knowledge and skills to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and equipment. Students will receive a well-rounded education that includes include learning industrial mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, industrial electrical controls, instrumentation, programmable logic controls (PLCs), motor controls, and their application to industry. High school students begin the program while in high school and can continue one more semester for a Certificate A and two more semesters for Certificate C. Students also have the option to complete their Associate in Applied Science degree.

Dual Credit (GCCC EDGE)

This program is also offered as dual enrollment through GCCC’s Edge Program. “Dual Credit Courses” as defined by the Higher Learning Commission are courses taught to high school students for which the students receive both high school and college credit. The Industrial Maintenance dual credit courses are offered on the GCCC campus for days a week during .

Excel in CTE

Excel in CTE is a state funded program that provides free career technical education (CTE) at Kansas technical and community colleges for juniors and seniors in high school. GCCC offers several options in both transfer and technical courses that fall under Excel in CTE. These courses are offered at no cost to the high school student.
