Discover Choral and Vocal Music at GCCC
The Garden City Community College Concert Choir has a long and proud tradition of excellence in the performance of a great variety of choral works. The choir consists of many of the finest vocalists at GCCC. The choir in recent years has performed major works with instrumental accompaniment including Pergolesi's "Magnificat", John Rutter's "Requiem" and "Gloria", Vivaldi's "Gloria", Saint Saens "Christmas Oratorio", Bach's Cantata #142, Morten Lauridsen's "Lux Aeterna and Mozart's "Requiem."
No auditions are required to become a member of the Concert Choir. However, auditions are held to become a member of the College Singers. Students must be enrolled in the College Choir in order to audition for the College Singers. The College Singers perform for several school and community functions each year. The College Singers perform a variety of music from the renaissance to vocal jazz literature.
Private study in voice is also available to music majors and non-majors alike. Lessons are one half hour a week and are subject to availability of instructor time.
