Communication

Discover Communication Studies at GCCC

Communication is a constant in a world full of change, but through the growth of technology, mobile devices and social media the way in which we communicate has had to expand. Here at GCCC we provide students with the academic and life tools to assist in this growing process.

The communication courses focus on preparing students for their professional futures along with developing interpersonal and intercultural communication skills. Students have the option of several different communication courses that focus on different disciplines in communication. This gives students who are continuing their degree after GCCC a solid foundation in the field of communication to better determine their area of focus.

Courses Offered:

  • Public Speaking
  • Advanced Public Speaking
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Intercultural Communication
  • Introduction to Public Relations
  • Introduction to Advertising
  • Communication in the information society
  • Argument and Debate

Students will receive knowledge and experience through the hands-on learning style these courses provide. They will have the opportunity to develop and deliver speeches, write and record advertisements, work with local agencies promoting fundraisers, and develop and demonstrate interpersonal and intercultural communication skills through group interaction.
