Assessment
Assessment Overview
- Assessment at GCCC encompasses a broad range of accountability and continuous improvement tools including Academic Assessment and Non-Academic Assessment. Academic Assessment is guided by the Assessment Coordinator and the Student Learning Assessment Team (SLAT) which is a group of full-time faculty who work together to plan, execute, and revise Academic Assessment processes. Academic Assessment is comprised of Semester Course Assessment, Program Assessment, and Institutional Skills Assessment. Non-Academic Assessment, which includes Co-Curricular Assessment, is overseen by the Assessment Coordinator in conjunction with the Vice President for Instructional Services. For information on SLAT meeting minutes, assessment newsletters, or assessment work, please contact the Office of the Vice President for Instructional Services or the Assessment Coordinator.
5-Year Academic and Department Review
GCCC academic areas and non-academic departments participate in a regular, five-year cycle of comprehensive reviews that seek continuous improvement over time. The schedule for these reviews is linked below. Electronic copies of all reviews are kept with the Vice President for Instructional Service's office. For information about these documents, please contact Stephanie Knight (stephanie.knight@gcccks.edu) or 620-276-9593.
