Determine Course Placement
All degree-seeking students or students enrolling in a Math or English course must provide evidence of proficiency prior to enrollment.
GCCC uses multiple placement measures to help students select the most appropriate English, Reading, and Math courses for their educational goals. Please meet with an advisor prior to enrollment to ensure appropriate course selection.
You may qualify if you are a CURRENT high school student, or have completed high school within THREE years. This transcript can be emailed, uploaded, mailed, electronically sent, or hand-delivered. An official transcript will still be needed to be degree-seeking and to receive financial aid. For more information on official vs. unofficial transcript click HERE.
GED scores within the last 3-years are valid for placement. GED scores can be emailed,
uploaded, mailed, or hand-delivered. Official GED scores are required to be degree-seeking
and to receive financial aid. For more information on official vs. unofficial transcripts
ACT or SAT scores - ACT and SAT scores are not required to be accepted to GCCC, but we can use them for placement. The scores must be within the last 3-years.
