Medication Aides administer certain classifications of medications in long-term care facilities. The CMA course at GCCC is a five-credit hour course and provides you with the basic techniques and safety in medication administration. This includes the study of commonly used drugs, as well as classifications and side effects.
Seventy-Five (75) clock hours must be completed as required by the Kansas Dept. of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), which includes 50 hours of instructional learning and 25 hours of in-person lab/clinical time. After successful completion of the course, students are prepared to take the KDADS State CMA exam
