Registered Nursing
The Registered Nurse (RN) program prepares students like you for entry into a professional nursing career. Students who are Kansas Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are encouraged to advance their health education in this selective program with expert faculty, hands-on learning, and high rates of job placement after graduation and licensure.
Our Program
Since GCCC graduated its first class of registered nurses (RNs) in 1972, the LPN to RN program has continued to exemplify quality and excellence with licensing rates above both national and Kansas averages. Stellar licensing pass rates ensures job placement after you earn your degree, and practical application in the classroom coupled with critical thinking skills improves your success of advancement and leadership opportunities when you enter the workforce.
Class Sizes
The RN program is limited to 40 students, and Kansas State Board of Nursing regulations require no more than 10 students per faculty member for student learning in clinical areas.
Scholarships
All students who complete a scholarship application for the nursing program typically receive some scholarship assistance. Students are also encouraged to apply for Federal Student Aid and outside scholarships to help fund their education.
Advisement
All nursing students are advised by full-time faculty in the Nursing Department. These faculty members are committed to quality teaching in the classroom and in clinical settings, with constant reminders regarding best-practices in the profession.
