2018-19 Annual Report Now Available

[Garden City, KS] Jan. 31, 2020 -- Garden City Community College's 2018-2019 Annual Report is now available to the public through print and online      editions.

The 15-page report offers readers a comprehensive look at the institution's key accomplishments and financial data from the past fiscal year, spanning July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019.

Some of those accomplishments include new educational pathways with partner universities, state and national titles earned by student organizations, and GCCC's Centennial Celebration, marking 100 years since the college's inception in 1919.

GCCC President Dr. Ryan Ruda, who began his tenure at the start of the 2018-19 academic year, said the report's synopsis of demographic and fiscal data, along with noteworthy events, reflects the college's important work in producing positive contributors to the economic and social-well being of society.

"The annual report is another effort on the part of GCCC to remain transparent and communicate with you, because this is your community college," Dr. Ruda added.

The report also includes data from an economic impact study completed by EMSI, a labor market analytics firm, revealing how local tax dollars at GCCC drive local economic growth. The market study indicates that GCCC's operations make an impact of over $77 million on an annual basis, based on 2016-2017 fiscal data.

"The (EMSI) study shows how tax dollars are benefitting the community through GCCC's work," Ruda added.

The 2018-2018 Annual Report will be distributed to subscribers of The Garden City Telegram on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, reaching almost 3,000 readers. Copies will also be made available in public spaces in Garden City and can be distributed to area businesses or organizations upon request.

In addition to the annual report, a pocket-size pamphlet -- the 2018-2019 Report Card -- is also available in print.
