GCCC to Offer Non-Credit Photography Course on April 15th

[Garden City, KS] April 6, 2023 -- Garden City Community College will offer a non-credit "Taking Better Pictures" photography course on April 15th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, taught by Cayla Thomlinson, GCCC Communication Associate Professor, and longtime photographer.

The course is $10/person and will be held for two hours on Saturday, April 15th in the GCCC Academic Building room 1210. Cayla shared, "If you love taking photos but still need help developing your style, this class is for you. The content could be applied to personal or business use. It is a look at basic composition, angles, and the types of shots you're taking. We will also assess why they are working or why sometimes they just don't feel 'quite right.' The class will last 2 hours, we will have time to practice and shoot around GCCC and share our images at the end of the class." She continued, "You do not have to have a professional camera to participate, your phone will work too. This is more about learning what calls your attention to a photo and how to create it when you're out shooting."
