GCCC Theatre and Music Departments to Present “Sondheim Tribute Revue”
[Garden City, KS] March 28, 2025 -- Garden City Community College Theatre department, in partnership with the Music Department, is proud to announce performances of the SONDHEIM TRIBUTE REVUE, which will perform April 24-26 & May 1-3 at 7:00 pm in the KCB Bank Auditorium, Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building, GCCC Campus.
The SONDHEIM TRIBUTE REVUE, which features numbers from across the celebrated composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim’s body of work, includes a cast of 25 talented students and community members and an orchestra of dedicated musicians; Artistic Direction and Design by Dr. Joshua Kelly, Assistant Direction by Nic Vigil, Vocal Direction by Professor Sean Boller, Music Direction by Professor Makenzi Johnson, and accompaniment by Maria Loving.
Combining solos, duets, trios, quartets, and large ensemble pieces, the night includes well-loved music from Broadway classics such as Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Merrily We Roll Along, Follies, A Little Night Music, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To The Forum, and many more. “We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the legacy of Stephen Sondheim and showcase the talents of so many wonderful actors, singers, and musicians from our community,” said Dr. Kelly. “We are particularly excited to join forces with our Music Department, who has been handling the task of arrangements and music rehearsals expertly.”
The cast includes, in no particular order: Alexandra Terriquez, Zephyr Hernandez, Jose Fernandez, Maria Sanchez, Kat Oman, Veronica McCallum, Bryna Bondarenko, Jamie Durler, Roger Syng, Alicia Gian-Maciulis, Melissa Fulton, Ryan Pilosof, Harsae Hanneman, Phybee Madlangbayan, Byrant Detvongsa, Gael Elizalde, Pablo Aguilar, Laura Love, Leslie Jaco, Vince Perez-Melivar, Silas Lobmeyer, Bryce Meyerhoff, Cassie Meyerhoff, and Clay Wright.
The SONDHEIM TRIBUTE REVUE is free admission with general seating for all performances and is performed with special arrangement with MUSIC THEATRE INTERNATIONAL. Questions about the performance can be directed to drama@gcccks.edu.
