GCCC BOT Hears Program Review for Health, Physical Education, Recreation Department

[Garden City, KS] August 14, 2024 -- The Garden City Community College Board of Trustees heard a program review for the Health, Physical Education, Recreation (HPER) department during the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. 

The Board heard a five-year review for the HPER department, highlighting a program overview, enrollment statistics, institutional data, achievements over the past five years, and potential areas for future development.

During the President’s Report, Dr. Ryan Ruda commended GCCC’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Class of 2024 for their outstanding achievement of a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX RN exam, as administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. All 20 graduates successfully passed the examination, demonstrating the excellence of GCCC's nursing program.

In addition to this significant accomplishment, Dr. Ruda provided updates on the college’s fall enrollment and housing. He highlighted a notable increase in both headcount and credit hours, with on-campus housing now at full capacity.

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 6 p.m. in the Omar D. Angeles Endowment Room in the Beth Tedrow Student Center, Garden City Community College Campus.
