GCCC Annual Welding Competition Set for April 21st
[Garden City, KS] February 28, 2022 -- The Garden City Community College Welding Program will hold the 2022 Welding Competition
for area high school students on April 21st at the GCCC Welding Building (1802 Spruce St., Garden City). Registration begins
at 8:15 AM with the competition starting at 9 AM. 
Area high school students who are currently enrolled in a welding course at their high school are eligible to compete. Students will be tested on SMAW, Oxyfuel Cutting, General Safety/Knowledge, Blueprint Reading, and Math. Each high school may have four individual welding students and a three-person team compete. Layout tools will be provided, but students should bring their own welding helmets and safety gear. Students may contact their high school welding instructor for further details.
