GCCC Announces 2023 NISOD Excellence Award Recipients
[Garden City, KS] April 12, 2023 -- Garden City Community College is proud to announce two employees were selected for the annual NISOD Excellence Awards: Lachele Greathouse, Professor of Business, and Alli Griffin, Head Athletic Trainer. NISOD's Excellence Awards recognize those who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment and contribution to their students and colleagues.
The award is based on nominations from fellow colleagues, and Greathouse and Griffin were honored on stage during an all-employee meeting on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at GCCC. They will also be recognized during NISOD's annual International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence, May 27-30, 2023, and receive a specially cast, pewter medallion hung on a burnt-orange ribbon.
"NISOD's commitment to fostering professional development and leadership for educators meets a critical need. It is important to offer opportunities that inspire excellence in the classroom and beyond and highlight the great work, innovation and focus on student success that exists at GCCC," stated Dr. Ruda, GCCC President. He continued, "As a peer-nominated award, Lachele and Alli have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the campus, community, and students. We are all very proud and appreciative of the dedication they convey daily to improve GCCC."
