Flying Drones Workshop
Garden City Community College, in collaboration with Halkin Inc., will host a Flying Drones Workshop on Thursday, April 10, 2025. Open to students and community members, the free event will provide an engaging workshop on drone technology, followed by a hands-on flying session with a Halkin representative. Participants will also enjoy a complimentary lunch.
The workshop will be led by:
- Savannah Sanburg, GCCC Associate Professor of Communication and Halkin Director of Education and Curricular Development
- Yuriy Drubinskiy, GCCC Assistant Professor of Robotics
- Grant Hall, Halkin Chief Executive Officer
- Ryan Hall, Halkin Chief Operating Officer
After the workshop, participants will fly drones in the GCCC Quad, experiencing firsthand the skills and techniques covered in the session. Additionally, a drawing for two drones will be held, giving attendees the opportunity to take home their own drone.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register online. On-site registration will be available from 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. at the Quad, with the event beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Fouse Science and Math Building, Room 1104.
