Financial Aid Census Date

ATTN: STUDENTS - IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID (PELL GRANTS & LOANS )
Financial Aid Census Date is the day that GCCC will take a "snapshot" of your enrollment for the semester. For Spring 2020, this date is Friday, Feb. 7, 2020
- Enrollment level (full time, 3/4 time, 1/2 time, or less than half-time) determines grant eligibility for the term. this enrollment snapshot will determine the total grant payment for the semester.
- To be counted toward the enrollment level for grant purposes YOU must be enrolled in the classes as of the census date even if the class(es) have a start date that is later in the semester.
- If you add classes after the Financial Aid Census Day they WILL NOT be counted for grant payment purposes.
- If you drop classes after the Financial Aid Census Day (as long as they don't drop
all classes) you ordinarily will not owe back any of the financial aid. (However,
if students fail or drop too many classes it could affect Satisfactory Academic Progress
or SAP status by lowering your pace/completion rate)
The first financial aid disbursement date for Spring 2020 is Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020. Disbursement dates may vary depending on student's first day of attendance.
Not beginning attendance in a class may result in a Pell Grant recalculation and/or a loss of student loan eligibility.
