A successful transfer of college credits involves careful planning and takes time to develop. The following information can help you through the process. These resources may help you make informed and efficient transfer decisions, as well as help you transfer the credits you earn at GCCC to your next college experience!

Understand eligibility for reverse transfer
Course Transfer:
There is a growing list of courses approved by the Kansas Board of Regents for guaranteed transfer among all Kansas public post-secondary institutions. Visit the Kansas Board of Regents for more information.
Reverse Transfer:
Students who transfer to a Kansas public university from a Kansas public community college or technical college (or vice versa) are eligible for Reverse Transfer, which allows for the attainment of any associate degree for which one is eligible along the way to additional certificates and degrees. Dual Enrollment Credits
High school students can start planning early! Consider which of the dual-enrollment credits available will meet the needs of your desired transfer program.
- High school students can take Advanced Placement courses or international baccalaureate courses for college course credit.
- High school students can take GCCC courses for high school and college credit; General Education courses can help students complete the State-wide General Education Package before they graduate high school!
- High school students can also take technical education credits through the Excel CTE program, with the cost covered by the state.
Transfer Tips 
- If you plan to transfer credits, start thinking about it early — even when you're determining your first semester at GCCC Research schools/programs that you are interested in,
- Know yourself and what is important to you when you think about a school (location, certain degrees offered, price, etc…),
- Meet regularly with an academic advisor, Know the difference between credits that transfer and credits that apply to a degree,
- Know the admissions and scholarship deadlines for the schools you are interested in transferring to, Use the GCCC Transfer Intent form to connect with Dual Advising opportunities,
- Complete your Associates Degree first, Leverage guaranteed transfer options, like the Statewide General Eduation package or a System-wide Associates Degree,
- Prepare in advance for success at your transfer school —arrange a campus tour, visit with program faculty, figure out living arrangements, and prepare early!

Guaranteed Transfer
