About the Program

Program Overview
The Production Agriculture program at Garden City Community College prepares students to understand and manage modern farming and ranching operations. Students gain a strong foundation in the science and business of agriculture, including both crops and livestock.

Modern Farming and Science-Based Practices

AGRI.CERTA: This certificate provides educational curriculum to enhance a student’s ability to be successful in his or her agricultural endeavors.

Certificate B in Agribusiness Specialist (Agronomy ) - 31 credit hours

AGRO.CERTB: This certificate provides an educational curriculum with an agronomy emphasis, introducing and refining skills in crop production, soils, range management, and agricultural economics to help students succeed in their agricultural endeavors.

Certificate B in Agribusiness Specialist (Livestock Management) - 31 credit hours

AGLV.CERTB: This certificate provides an educational curriculum with a livestock management emphasis, introducing and refining skills in animal science, beef and livestock production, feedlot operations, and agricultural business to help students succeed in their agricultural endeavors.
