Program Overview
The Community Health Worker program at Garden City Community College prepares students
to serve as a vital connection between healthcare providers and the community. Students
develop the skills needed to support public health, advocate for social justice, and
improve access to care.
Flexible Online Learning
This program is offered fully online, making it the only Community Health Worker program of its kind in Kansas and providing
flexibility for students across the state. The course includes 100 clock hours of
fully online class-based instruction and 60 clock hours of service-learning within
your own community.
Career-Ready Skills
Students gain practical experience in health education, patient advocacy, community
outreach, and care coordination, preparing them to make a meaningful impact in real-world
public health settings.
