Policy Statement:

The College will consider program discontinuance.

Procedures:

The Vice President for Instructional Services recommends programs based on appropriate criteria. It is recommended that administrators discuss program deficiencies with relevant faculty and supervisors as part of the program discontinuance process. The Vice President submits the recommendation to the College President, who leads the administrative decision to increase, reduce, continue, or discontinue the program. The decision is relayed to the appropriate personnel in the program under consideration.  In the event the Board determines a reduction in force is necessary, the order of nonrenewal or termination can be found in the Negotiated Agreement.
