GCCC Endowment Association to Host Buster Connect September 28–October 1
The Garden City Community College Endowment Association is excited to announce Buster Connect, the new format of its annual student-led scholarship fundraising initiative, formerly known as Phonathon. Buster Connect will take place September 28 through October 1.
For 47 years, the Endowment Phonathon has connected students with community supporters through personal phone calls to raise funds for student scholarships. This year, the tradition continues under a new name while introducing an easier and more convenient way to give.
During Buster Connect, GCCC students will reach out to alumni and supporters by phone to share their GCCC experiences and request support for future Broncbusters. For the first time, students will also be able to send donors a secure online giving link via text, allowing supporters to make a contribution quickly and conveniently from their own device.
“Buster Connect builds on a tradition that has made a meaningful difference in the lives of GCCC students for nearly five decades,” said Karlie Oller, Director of Annual Giving, Events, and Alumni Relations at GCCC. “While the way we give continues to evolve, the purpose remains the same: connecting our supporters with opportunities to invest in the success of current and future Broncbusters.”
Students representing a variety of GCCC programs will participate in Buster Connect, including Agriculture, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, EMS, Fire Science, HALO, Meat Judging, Music, Nursing and Rodeo.
All gifts received through Buster Connect directly support GCCC students by providing scholarship funds for both academic and technical programs.
Supporters who are not contacted during Buster Connect, or who would like to give now, can make a gift online and designate it to a specific program by visiting the GCCC Endowment Association's secure giving page.
