Garden City Community College Announces Open Auditions for “12 Angry Jurors”

[Garden City, KS] August 12, 2026

Garden City Community College will hold open auditions for its upcoming production of 12 Angry Jurors, directed by William Schlichter. Auditions will take place in the KCB Bank Auditorium inside the GCCC Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building on Tuesday, September 8, from 6-8 p.m., and Wednesday, September 9, from 4-7 p.m.

The auditions are open to GCCC students and community members aged 14+. No prepared monologue is required, and participants should be prepared for cold readings from the script.

Opportunities are also available for individuals interested in offstage production roles, including costuming, set construction, stage management, and choreography. Those interested may contact Schlichter by email or sign up at auditions.

12 Angry Men, Reginald Rose’s Emmy Award-winning television movie, serves as the inspiration for 12 Angry Jurors, a stage adaptation of the classic courtroom drama. The play follows twelve jurors as they deliberate a life-or-death murder case, confronting their assumptions, biases, and beliefs as they work toward a unanimous verdict.

Performances of 12 Angry Jurors are scheduled for November 6-7 at 7:00 p.m. and November 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the KCB Bank Auditorium. This production is produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois.

For more information about auditions or production opportunities, contact William Schlichter, GCCC Associate Professor of English, at william.schlichter@gcccks.edu.
