PNSG.AS: The Associate in Science in Pre-Nursing is a strategic launchpad for students aiming to transfer into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at a four-year university. While this degree is a separate pathway from the GCCC Nursing program, it’s a great way to complete your core requirements while working closely with an advisor to reach your long-term career goals.

GCCC has worked with our transfer partners create seamless transfer opportunities for students. These articulation agreements outline the pathway from GCCC to your next stop by identifying the courses you should take and how they will transfer.

Program Highlights

All participating institutions follow Math Pathways guidance for meeting general education math requirements. Most programs require College Algebra, Contemporary Mathematics, or Fundamentals of Statistics, though other advanced math courses may also be accepted. The math course listed in each degree plan reflects the Kansas Board of Regents' recommendation, and College Algebra may be substituted for either of the other two courses.
Outcomes: 100% first-time NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN pass rates
Students should consult with an academic advisor to ensure proper course sequencing.
Pre-Nursing, AS (PNSG.AS) is a Kansas Systemwide Associate Degree (SWAD) and therefore follows the sequence prescribed by the Kansas Board of Regents.

Requirements

Entrance requirements: TEAS exam
Current and active unencumbered LPN license approved for work in the state of Kansas
Transcript showing completion of a CNA course with a C or higher or CNA certification
