The Two-Dimensional Art program provides students with opportunities for research, critical inquiry, and the development of personal creative expression through coursework in drawing, painting, and printmaking. Two-Dimensional Art Facilities
The Drawing and Painting Studio, located in the Joye Fine Arts Building, provides an ideal learning environment. The space features abundant natural light from a large skylight and is fully equipped to support college-level instruction. Facilities include a Conrad printing press, a comprehensive still-life library, and an extensive collection of art books, fostering an atmosphere that supports both emerging and developing artists.
The Three-Dimensional Art Program prepares students to transfer to four-year institutions by building strong technical skills, creative thinking, and conceptual development. In a small, supportive, and well-equipped studio environment, students explore craft, design, and problem-solving while developing their individual artistic voice. The program also emphasizes community engagement, encouraging students to share their work, participate in cultural activities, and gain real-world experience that prepares them for future academic and professional success.
Three-Dimensional Art Facilities
The facilities include a fully equipped ceramics lab with multiple throwing wheels, hand-building stations, a slab roller, extruder, clay recycling equipment, a pugmill, and both gas and electric kilns. Students work with a range of high- and low-fire techniques, supporting both beginning and advanced practice. A separate sculpture and design studio offers space for woodworking and casting, providing a well-rounded environment for three-dimensional exploration.
