Early Childhood Education Program

The GCCC Early Childhood Education Program offers a variety of opportunities to meet the needs of those pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education. Not only do our courses meet NAEYC Standards, but they can be applied towards a CDA certificate that is recognized nationwide.

Our Certificate Program offers advanced coursework for those seeking employment within a childcare center or as a licensed in-home childcare provider. The 17 hours of coursework are designed to prepare students to respond to the various needs of their students, provide high quality educational opportunities, and meet regulation requirements for operating successful childcare.

If you are a high school student interested in a career in childcare, a number of the courses required for our certificate received CTE approval. Please speak with your school counselor about the dual credit opportunities available at your school.

In addition to the certificate, we also offer single credit hour courses, designed with current childcare workers in mind, that meet the requirements for continuing education credit needed to maintain current employment and/or licensure.

At GCCC, we believe that Early Childhood Education is the cornerstone of a thriving community, and we can't wait to work with you on your journey to becoming an Early Childhood Educator.
