Sports Administration
You dont have to be a professional athlete to work in the sports industry. Career opportunities in coaching, game operations, facilities management, and much more await you! Garden City Community College provides a sports administration program geared towards introducing you to all of the options you have within athletics. Develop an understanding of the important roles that leadership, management, finance, and law play in the applied sport setting. As a sports administration student at GCCC, you will have the unique chance to observe the administration of a National Junior College Athletic Association Division I athletic department with over seventeen mens and womens athletic teams.

Class Sizes
You will join as many as 24 students in sports administration classes, giving you both an ability to work closely with your instructors and the chance to develop your skills in working with other students on leadership, management, and strategic planning projects for sport and athletic administration.
Scholarships
Are you looking for unique and meaningful opportunities to fund your education? You could be one of several students who receive scholarships to put their sports administration knowledge into action by assisting Garden City Community Colleges Athletic department with game promotion, crowd control, and game statistics.
Advisement
Your academic and sports administration advisement is available through the division of health, physical education, and recreation, which means that the sports administration faculty members also serve as advisors for the program. These individuals have athletic administration and sport management experience as well as knowledge of GCCC requirements. You can rest assured that your advisors will be able to successfully guide you to graduation and prepare you for your next step in the world of sports administration, coaching, or any other sports specific career path.

*Most careers listed require a Bachelor’s Degree. The AS in Sports Administration at GCCC is meant as a transfer degree and students are encouraged to transfer to a 4-year university upon completion.
